What COHORT is
The philosophy, the moving parts, and a map of the app.
COHORT is a tool for running structured self-experiments (n-of-1 trials) on your own health — grounded in scientific evidence, your own lab data, and your own wearable signal, instead of vibes.
The philosophy in three sentences
- One person, done rigorously, beats a crowd done sloppily. A pre-registered hypothesis, a locked protocol, and a success threshold you committed to *before* seeing data give "I feel like it helped" something to be compared with.
- Honest results. Every result is graded for how much you can trust it.
- Your vault contains health data, not identity. Original documents are never stored; names, contacts and IDs never enter your record. See What we store.
The map
- Today — your daily check-in, in a morning and an evening half: your experiment's dose and questions, the checklist (supplements, medication, habits) with your own questions, and one-off extras with a private day note.
- Experiments — everything you're running, planning, or have finished, with each run's result. Its Find tab lists the curated experiments by goal and the markers that sit outside the range you chose in Settings.
- Health — your full record: labs, gut microbiome, medical records, supplements, medications, medical history, connected devices.
How the pieces feed each other
Your stack and experiments generate the Today checklist → your check-offs become adherence, which decides how trustworthy a result is → your journal captures what else was going on (alcohol, stress, sleep), shown beside each run → your wearable data and labs provide baselines and endpoints.
COHORT is a lab notebook with a brain: the decisions stay yours, ideally together with your doctor.
