Devices, notifications & your phone

Whoop, the daily digest, and installing COHORT with push reminders.

Connected devices

Health → Connected devices. Connecting Whoop syncs ~6 months of history and then keeps itself current daily: HRV, resting heart rate, recovery, sleep (duration, stages, efficiency, performance), strain, workouts, and weight. COHORT also keeps your sleep and recovery records as Whoop provides them (sleep and wake times, naps, breathing rate, blood oxygen and skin temperature among them), so an experiment can measure your baseline.

What the data powers: wearable-marker experiments (HRV, sleep duration, recovery…) measure themselves — baselines and endpoints use a trailing 7-day average, no manual logging.

A manual "Sync now" lives on the device card if you don't want to wait for the daily sync.

The daily digest

A morning reminder at your chosen time (default 06:30, local), with a link to check in on today's list. Opt in under Settings → Notifications — it arrives by email, and as a push notification if you've enabled reminders on your phone.

Every notification email (the morning and evening check-ins, and the "You have an update in COHORT" email when an experiment finishes) is a short reminder in the same words for everyone. It names none of your experiments, supplements, markers, values or results; the details stay in COHORT, behind sign-in.

COHORT on your phone

The web app installs like a native app:

  1. Open app.cohort.study in Safari (iPhone) or Chrome (Android)
  2. Share → Add to Home Screen (iPhone) / Install app (Android)
  3. Open COHORT from the home-screen icon, go to Today, and tap Enable on the reminders banner

That unlocks push notifications — your morning plan arrives as a notification you can tap straight into Today. (On iPhone this only works from the installed icon, not the browser tab — an Apple rule, not ours.)

The interface is fully responsive: the checklist, journal and health sections all work phone-first.
